The FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus Sensor is a continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) device designed to provide real-time glucose readings without the need for repeated blood sampling.
It is used in veterinary medicine to support monitoring of glucose levels in diabetic patients, allowing trends and patterns to be assessed over time and helping guide treatment decisions.
The sensor is applied to the skin and measures glucose levels in interstitial fluid, transmitting readings automatically to a compatible smartphone. This provides continuous, real-time glucose data throughout the day and night without the need to scan the sensor.
The FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus Sensor has a small design, which can be particularly beneficial for cats, smaller patients, or animals prone to dislodging sensors.
Each sensor is designed to be worn for up to 15 days, offering a convenient and minimally invasive method of glucose monitoring.
