- Uploaded prescriptions are valid for up to 6 months or until the prescribed number of repeats has been supplied, whichever comes first. In accordance with UK Veterinary Medicines Regulations, we are legally required to retain veterinary prescriptions for a minimum of 5 years.

Zelys Chewable Tablets for Dogs contain pimobendan, a prescription veterinary medicine used in the treatment of canine congestive heart failure.

A valid veterinary prescription is required before this medicine can be supplied.
What is Zelys used for?
Zelys is authorised for the treatment of congestive heart failure in dogs caused by:
- Valvular insufficiency, including mitral and/or tricuspid valve regurgitation
- Dilated cardiomyopathy
Zelys must only be used following diagnosis and prescription by a veterinary surgeon.
How to give Zelys
Give Zelys exactly as prescribed by your veterinary surgeon. The strength, number of tablets and frequency of administration must match the directions stated on your prescription.
Possible adverse effects
Adverse effects are uncommon but may include:
- Vomiting
- Diarrhoea
- Reduced appetite
- Lethargy
- An increased heart rate
Very rarely, small areas of bleeding beneath the skin or pinpoint bleeding on the gums or other mucous membranes may occur.
Contact your veterinary surgeon if your dog develops any unexpected symptoms or if you are concerned about its condition during treatment.
Storage
- Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
- Keep out of reach of animals, as the tablets are flavoured and may be eaten accidentally.
- Store in the original packaging provided.
- Protect from moisture.
- Any unused half-tablet should be returned to the original packaging and used for the next scheduled administration.
Accidental ingestion by a person, particularly a child, may cause an increased heart rate, low blood pressure, facial flushing or headache. Seek medical advice immediately and show the medicine packaging or dispensing label to the doctor.
Wash your hands after administering the medicine.
