PRODUCT INFORMATION

For the stabilisation of hyperthyroidism in cats.

Vidalta is a prescription-only veterinary medicine containing carbimazole, licensed for use in cats. It is indicated for the long-term management of feline hyperthyroidism.

Carbimazole is a prodrug that is converted to methimazole in the body and acts by inhibiting thyroid hormone synthesis. This helps to reduce excessive circulating thyroxine (T4) levels associated with hyperthyroidism.

Vidalta Tablets are formulated as a prolonged-release preparation, allowing for once-daily dosing in many cats, as directed by a veterinary surgeon. Appropriate dose adjustment and regular monitoring are essential to ensure effective and safe treatment.

Vidalta should only be used under veterinary supervision and supplied against a valid veterinary prescription.

Tablets may be supplied either as individual tablets dispensed from original manufacturer packaging or as full sealed manufacturer packs, depending on the option selected and the veterinary prescription.

Further information, including contraindications and potential side effects, can be found in the product data sheet available here.
