PRODUCT INFORMATION
Vetmedin is a prescription-only veterinary medicine containing pimobendan, licensed for use in dogs with heart disease.
Vetmedin Oral Solution is indicated for the treatment of congestive heart failure originating from atrioventricular valvular insufficiency or dilated cardiomyopathy, and for use in pre-clinical dilated cardiomyopathy where cardiac enlargement is present. The oral solution formulation allows accurate dosing, particularly in small dogs or where tablet administration is not suitable.
Pimobendan acts as a positive inotrope and vasodilator, helping to improve cardiac contractility and reduce cardiac workload. Vetmedin is commonly used as part of a multimodal treatment plan, as directed by a veterinary surgeon.
