PRODUCT INFORMATION

Tramvetol 50mg Tablets for Dogs are a prescription-only veterinary medicine containing tramadol hydrochloride, used for the reduction of acute and chronic mild soft tissue and musculoskeletal pain in dogs.

Tramvetol may be prescribed by veterinary surgeons as part of an individual pain management plan, with the dose and duration of treatment determined according to the dog's clinical needs and response.

Tramvetol 50mg is available from Vetalia as either a single tablet or a box of 100 tablets, allowing the quantity supplied to match the veterinary prescription.

What is Tramvetol used for?

Tramvetol is authorised for the reduction of acute and chronic mild soft tissue and musculoskeletal pain in dogs weighing more than 6.25kg.

The response to tramadol can vary between individual dogs, so treatment should be monitored by the prescribing veterinary surgeon and adjusted where necessary.

What does Tramvetol contain?

Each tablet contains tramadol equivalent to 50mg tramadol hydrochloride.

How is Tramvetol given?

Tramvetol is given orally. The dose, frequency and duration of treatment are determined by the prescribing veterinary surgeon and will be provided on the dispensing label.

Always administer Tramvetol exactly as prescribed. Do not alter the dose or frequency of administration without first discussing this with your veterinary surgeon.

Controlled drug prescription requirements

Tramvetol is a Schedule 3 controlled veterinary medicine. A valid written prescription is required before supply.

Prescriptions for Schedule 3 controlled drugs are valid for 28 days from the date of issue and may only be dispensed once, unless issued as an instalment prescription by the prescribing veterinary surgeon.

The prescription must be signed in ink by the prescribing veterinary surgeon. For Schedule 3 controlled drugs, the original hard-copy prescription must be sent by post before the medicine can be supplied. The postal address and instructions will be provided during checkout.

This product is a Prescription Only Medicine – Veterinarian (POM-V).

Important information

Tramvetol should not be administered alongside certain medicines, including tricyclic antidepressants, monoamine oxidase inhibitors and serotonin reuptake inhibitors.

It should not be used in dogs with epilepsy or in animals with a known hypersensitivity to tramadol or any of the ingredients in the product.

If your dog is receiving any other medication, your veterinary surgeon should be made aware before Tramvetol is prescribed.
