PRODUCT INFORMATION
Synulox Palatable Drops are currently unavailable due to an ongoing manufacturing issue affecting UK supply.
There is currently no licensed veterinary alternative available. In some cases, vets may consider authorising a human co-amoxiclav suspension under the veterinary cascade where clinically appropriate.
If your pet has been prescribed Synulox Palatable Drops, please speak to your veterinary surgeon to discuss whether an alternative formulation may be suitable.
Please contact us at info@vetalia.co.uk for more information.
Synulox is a widely used veterinary antibiotic containing amoxicillin and clavulanic acid. It is prescribed for dogs and cats to treat a broad range of bacterial infections affecting the skin, soft tissues, urinary tract, and respiratory system.
The addition of clavulanic acid helps overcome bacterial resistance, making Synulox effective against infections that may not respond to standard amoxicillin alone. It is commonly used in both first-line and follow-up treatment plans where bacterial involvement is suspected or confirmed.
Synulox is available in multiple formulations to suit different patients, including palatable tablets and oral drops, allowing flexible dosing for both dogs and cats. The palatable tablet formulation is designed to be readily accepted, while the liquid form is particularly useful for smaller patients or those that are difficult to medicate.
For full prescribing information, including dosing guidelines, contraindications, and warnings, please refer to the official product datasheet here or here for the palatable drops.
As a licensed veterinary medicine in the UK, Synulox must be prescribed by a veterinary surgeon and supplied against a valid prescription.
