PRODUCT INFORMATION
Samylin is a veterinary liver support supplement for dogs and cats. It contains a combination of SAMe, silybin and antioxidant vitamins designed to support healthy liver cells and normal liver function.
Samylin is available as either whole tablets or palatable powder sachets, with three different sizes to suit cats and dogs of different bodyweights.
What is Samylin used for?
Samylin is a complementary feed formulated to support healthy liver function in dogs and cats. It may be recommended by a veterinary surgeon as part of the nutritional management of pets requiring additional liver support.
It can be used for either short-term or long-term support, depending on your pet’s individual needs and the advice of your veterinary surgeon.
Samylin may be recommended for pets:
- requiring nutritional support for normal liver function
- with raised liver enzymes or suspected liver disease
- receiving medication that is processed by the liver
- recovering from illness or exposure to substances that may affect the liver
- requiring additional antioxidant support
Liver disease has many different causes. Samylin should not be used as a substitute for veterinary examination, diagnosis or prescribed treatment.
Tablets or sachets – which should I choose?
Samylin is available as either tablets or palatable powder sachets. Both formulations contain the same key liver-support ingredients, so the choice usually comes down to which your pet finds easiest to take.
Tablets
Whole coated tablets that should be given intact. Ideal for pets that readily accept tablets.
Sachets
Palatable poultry-flavoured powder that can be mixed with food, making administration easier for many pets.

How does Samylin work?
Samylin combines several ingredients that help support normal liver function and provide antioxidant support.
- SAMe (S-adenosyl-L-methionine) supports normal liver metabolism and antioxidant production.
- Silybin is the most biologically active component of milk thistle extract and supports healthy liver cells.
- Vitamin E helps protect cells against oxidative stress.
- Vitamin C provides additional antioxidant support.
The amount of each ingredient varies between the Small, Medium and Large formulations to provide appropriate nutritional support across different bodyweights.
