PRODUCT INFORMATION

Protexin Veterinary SereniCare is a chicken-flavoured calming supplement for dogs and cats, formulated to help manage stress, anxiety-related behaviour and support healthy communication between the gut and brain.

Each individual sachet contains a carefully selected combination of alpha-casozepine, L-tryptophan, prebiotics and postbiotics. SereniCare can be used for occasional stressful events or as part of a longer-term behavioural management programme.

Pack size: 30 x 1g sachets.

When can SereniCare be used?

SereniCare may be useful for dogs and cats experiencing stress associated with:

  • Fireworks, thunderstorms and other loud noises
  • Veterinary appointments
  • Travelling
  • Kennels or catteries
  • Moving home or changes to their normal routine
  • Being left alone
  • Unfamiliar people, animals or environments
  • General anxious or unsettled behaviour

How does SereniCare work?

Alpha-casozepine

Alpha-casozepine is a naturally derived bioactive peptide obtained from hydrolysed cow's milk protein. It has calming and relaxing properties and is commonly used in nutritional supplements intended to support animals during stressful situations.

L-tryptophan

L-tryptophan is an essential amino acid and the sole precursor of serotonin. Serotonin plays an important role in supporting normal mood and behaviour.

Calming postbiotic blend

SereniCare contains heat-treated Lactobacillus rhamnosus CECT8361 and Bifidobacterium longum CECT7347. These postbiotics help support the gut microbiome and may help manage stress and anxiety-related behaviour.

Fibersol™ prebiotic

Fibersol™ is a resistant maltodextrin that acts as a prebiotic, helping to feed beneficial intestinal bacteria. A healthy and balanced microbiome supports normal gastrointestinal function and gut-brain communication.

How to give SereniCare

Give once daily according to your pet's body weight. The powder can be mixed with food.

Body weight Daily amount
Under 10kg ½ sachet daily
10–25kg 1 sachet daily
25–50kg 2 sachets daily
Over 50kg 3 sachets daily

For a predictable stressful event, begin using SereniCare approximately two weeks beforehand. The daily amount may also be repeated 90–120 minutes before the anticipated event.

Individual animals respond differently. Benefits may be noticed sooner in some pets, while others may require up to six weeks of consistent supplementation. SereniCare is suitable for longer-term use alongside appropriate environmental management and behavioural training.

The amount may be increased or decreased if advised by your veterinary surgeon.
