PRODUCT INFORMATION
Profender Spot-On Solution for Cats is a prescription-only veterinary worming treatment containing emodepside and praziquantel. It is applied directly to the skin and is available in three pipette sizes according to the cat's bodyweight.
Profender is licensed for cats suffering from, or at risk from, mixed parasitic infections involving certain roundworms, tapeworms and lungworms. The appropriate pipette size should be selected according to bodyweight and the treatment prescribed by your veterinary surgeon.
Profender sizes and weight ranges
- Small cats – 0.35ml: 0.5kg–2.5kg.
- Medium cats – 0.7ml: over 2.5kg–5kg.
- Large cats – 1.12ml: over 5kg–8kg.
What does Profender contain?
Each ml contains 21.4mg emodepside and 85.8mg praziquantel. Emodepside provides activity against susceptible roundworms, while praziquantel provides activity against susceptible tapeworms.
What is Profender used for?
Profender is licensed for the treatment of mixed parasitic infections caused by specified roundworms and tapeworms in cats, and also has a licensed indication for the lungworm Aelurostrongylus abstrusus. Treatment should follow your veterinary prescription.
How is Profender applied?
Profender is a spot-on treatment for external use. It should be applied directly to intact skin at the base of the skull, using the pipette size appropriate for the cat's bodyweight. Follow the dosing and treatment schedule prescribed by your veterinary surgeon.
Prescription requirements
Profender is a POM-V (Prescription Only Medicine – Veterinarian). A valid veterinary prescription is required before it can be supplied by Vetalia.
