Prevexto Flea & Tick Collar is a long-lasting veterinary flea and tick treatment for cats and dogs, providing continuous protection for up to 8 months with a single collar.

Prevexto contains imidacloprid and flumethrin. The active ingredients are gradually released from the collar and distributed across the lipid layer of the skin and coat, providing head-to-tail protection without the need for regular spot-on applications.

Prevexto is available for cats, dogs up to 8 kg and dogs over 8 kg.

How Prevexto works

Prevexto combines two established antiparasitic active ingredients: imidacloprid and flumethrin.

The ingredients are slowly released from the collar's polymer matrix and spread across the lipid layer of the skin and coat. This provides continuous topical protection across the animal's body.

Imidacloprid acts against fleas, while flumethrin provides acaricidal and repellent activity against ticks. Ticks do not need to take a blood meal before being exposed to the active ingredient.

How to use Prevexto

Apply one collar per animal. The collar should be worn continuously throughout the protection period and removed after approximately 8 months.

Fit the collar around the animal's neck, leaving enough room to comfortably insert two fingers between the collar and the neck. Any excess collar length should be trimmed according to the instructions supplied with the product.

Prevexto remains effective following occasional exposure to water. However, for maximum duration of activity, Virbac recommends removing the collar before bathing or swimming and replacing it once the coat is dry.

Built-in safety features

Prevexto collars incorporate safety mechanisms designed to reduce the risk of the collar becoming trapped.

• A controlled expansion mechanism allows the collar to widen under pressure.
• The cat and small-dog collars also include a V-shaped breakaway point.
