Prazitel Worming Tablets for Dogs & Cats
Prazitel is a broad-spectrum intestinal worming treatment for dogs and cats, designed to target common gastrointestinal parasites including roundworms and tapeworms.
It contains a combination of praziquantel and pyrantel, providing effective coverage against key intestinal worms commonly seen in companion animals. Regular worming helps protect your pet’s health and reduces the risk of environmental contamination and transmission within the household.
Prazitel tablets are suitable for routine parasite control or treatment where worms are suspected. Dosing is based on body weight, and treatment frequency depends on your pet’s lifestyle and risk factors such as outdoor access, scavenging or contact with other animals.

Prazitel Plus tablets are dosed according to body weight:

Prazitel Plus XL Tablets for Large Dogs
Prazitel Plus XL is designed for larger dogs and is administered orally.
The recommended dose is equivalent to 1 Prazitel Plus XL tablet per 35kg bodyweight.
- Dogs weighing approximately 17.5kg should receive ½ Prazitel Plus XL tablet.
- Dogs weighing approximately 35kg should receive 1 Prazitel Plus XL tablet.
- Dogs weighing more than 35kg should receive 1 Prazitel Plus XL tablet plus the appropriate number of Prazitel Plus tablets, calculated at 1 Prazitel Plus tablet per additional 10kg bodyweight.
The tablets can be given directly or disguised in food. No fasting is required before or after treatment.
To ensure the correct dose is given, your dog’s body weight should be determined as accurately as possible before treatment.
Important Information
Prazitel is classified as an NFA-VPS veterinary medicine.
Always follow the dosing instructions provided on the packaging or by your veterinary surgeon, pharmacist or suitably qualified person.
Routine worming is often carried out every three months, although the appropriate frequency may vary depending on your pet’s age, lifestyle and individual parasite risk.
If there is a risk of reinfestation, seek veterinary advice regarding the need for and frequency of repeat treatment.
