Phenoleptil (Phenobarbital) Tablets for Dogs - CD SCH3

Phenoleptil Tablets are a prescription-only veterinary medicine used in the management of epilepsy in dogs.

Phenoleptil contains phenobarbital, an antiepileptic agent that may be prescribed to reduce the frequency and severity of seizure activity, in accordance with the clinical judgement of the prescribing veterinary surgeon.

Phenoleptil tablets are available in multiple strengths to allow accurate dosing and individualised long-term epilepsy management. Treatment typically requires ongoing administration and regular clinical monitoring, including assessment of seizure control and serum phenobarbital concentrations, as directed by the prescribing veterinary surgeon.

Phenoleptil is a Schedule 3 controlled veterinary medicine. A valid written prescription is required before supply. Prescriptions for Schedule 3 medicines are valid for 28 days from the date of issue and may only be dispensed once, unless issued as an instalment prescription by the prescribing veterinary surgeon.

Prescriptions must be signed in ink by the prescribing veterinary surgeon. For Schedule 3 controlled drugs, the original hard-copy prescription must be sent by post before the medicine can be supplied. The postal address and instructions will be provided during checkout.

This product is a Prescription Only Medicine – Veterinarian (POM-V).

Dosage, frequency of treatment, and administration instructions are determined by the prescribing veterinary surgeon and are provided on the dispensing label.
