PRODUCT INFORMATION
Otoxolan Ear Drops are a prescription veterinary treatment used for the treatment of otitis externa in dogs associated with susceptible bacteria and fungi.
Otoxolan contains a combination of marbofloxacin, clotrimazole, and dexamethasone acetate to help manage bacterial infection, fungal overgrowth, inflammation, irritation, and discomfort affecting the ears.
Active Ingredients
Marbofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic used to target susceptible bacterial infections.
Clotrimazole is an antifungal agent active against yeast organisms including Malassezia species.
Dexamethasone acetate is a corticosteroid used to reduce inflammation, irritation, redness, and swelling within the ear canal.
What Is Otoxolan Used For?
Otoxolan is used in dogs for the treatment of otitis externa where mixed bacterial and fungal infections are present or suspected.
Clinical signs may include head shaking, scratching at the ears, redness, odour, discharge, pain, or sensitivity around the ears.
Administration
Otoxolan should be used exactly as prescribed by your veterinary surgeon.
The ear canal should be examined and cleaned appropriately before treatment where advised.
Avoid contamination of the applicator tip during use.
Important Information
Otoxolan should only be used after examination by a veterinary surgeon.
The eardrum should be assessed prior to administration. Do not use in cases where tympanic membrane perforation is suspected.
Owners should contact their veterinary surgeon if signs worsen or fail to improve.
