Numelvi Tablets for Dogs

Numelvi tablets for dogs are a Prescription Only Veterinary Medicine (POM-V) containing atinvicitinib, licensed for the treatment of pruritus associated with allergic dermatitis, including atopic dermatitis, in dogs.

Numelvi is available in 30 tablet and 90 tablet packs, depending on the strength prescribed. The smaller pack can be useful when starting treatment or where a lower quantity has been prescribed.

Atinvicitinib is a selective Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor that targets JAK1-dependent pathways involved in inflammation and itch.

What is Numelvi Used for in Dogs?

Numelvi is used to treat itching (pruritus) associated with allergic dermatitis in dogs, including atopic dermatitis.

Allergic skin disease may cause signs including:

  • Persistent itching or scratching
  • Licking or chewing the skin
  • Red or irritated skin
  • Recurrent skin problems or infections
  • Hair loss associated with scratching or licking
  • Discomfort or restlessness

Your veterinary surgeon will determine whether Numelvi is appropriate based on your dog's clinical signs, diagnosis and individual treatment requirements.

How Does Numelvi Work?

Numelvi contains atinvicitinib, a selective Janus kinase inhibitor.

JAK-dependent signalling pathways are involved in the transmission of signals associated with inflammation and itch. Atinvicitinib selectively inhibits JAK1-dependent pathways involved in these processes, helping to control pruritus associated with allergic dermatitis.

How is Numelvi Given?

Numelvi tablets are given orally according to the dose and frequency prescribed by your veterinary surgeon.

The appropriate dose depends on the dog's body weight and treatment requirements. Always follow the instructions provided by your veterinary surgeon and on the dispensing label.

Do not alter the dose or frequency without veterinary advice.

Monitoring Dogs Receiving Numelvi

Dogs receiving treatment for allergic skin disease may require ongoing veterinary monitoring to assess clinical response and overall health.

Your veterinary surgeon will advise you about appropriate reassessment and follow-up based on your dog's individual condition and response to treatment.
