PRODUCT INFORMATION
For the management of heart disease and associated clinical conditions in dogs and cats.
Nelio Tablets are a prescription-only veterinary medicine containing benazepril hydrochloride, an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor licensed for use in dogs and cats.
Nelio is indicated for the treatment of congestive heart failure in dogs, particularly in cases associated with atrioventricular valvular insufficiency or dilated cardiomyopathy. In cats, benazepril is commonly prescribed for the management of chronic kidney disease, where it may help reduce proteinuria and support renal function as part of a wider treatment plan.
Benazepril works by inhibiting the renin–angiotensin–aldosterone system (RAAS), leading to vasodilation and reduced blood pressure. This helps to decrease cardiac workload and improve haemodynamic stability.
Nelio is often used as part of a multimodal management strategy, alongside other cardiac or renal medications, as directed by a veterinary surgeon.
Nelio should only be used under the direction of a veterinary surgeon and supplied against a valid veterinary prescription.
