PRODUCT INFORMATION
For the management of weight loss in cats.
Mirataz 3g Transdermal Ointment is a prescription-only veterinary medicine containing mirtazapine. It is licensed for use in cats to promote weight gain in cases where reduced appetite or weight loss is a clinical concern.
Mirtazapine is a tetracyclic antidepressant with appetite-stimulating properties. It acts centrally to enhance appetite and may also help reduce nausea, supporting food intake in cats with underlying medical conditions.
Mirataz is supplied as a transdermal ointment for application to the inner surface of the ear, providing an alternative to oral administration in cats that are difficult to medicate. Treatment should be administered strictly according to the prescribing veterinary surgeon’s instructions.
Mirataz should only be used under veterinary supervision and supplied against a valid veterinary prescription.
Further information, including contraindications and potential side effects, can be found in the product data sheet available here.
