PRODUCT INFORMATION
Milprazon Chewable Tablets for Dogs and Cats are a prescription-only veterinary worming treatment containing milbemycin oxime and praziquantel. Milprazon is available in different strengths for dogs, puppies, cats and kittens according to bodyweight.
The combination of milbemycin oxime and praziquantel provides treatment against a range of intestinal roundworms and tapeworms. Milprazon may also be used as part of heartworm and lungworm treatment or prevention protocols where treatment against cestodes is indicated, as directed by your veterinary surgeon.
Milprazon strengths and weight ranges
- Milprazon 4mg/10mg – for small cats and kittens weighing 0.5kg–2kg.
- Milprazon 16mg/40mg – for cats weighing 2kg and over.
- Milprazon 2.5mg/25mg – for small dogs and puppies weighing 0.5kg–10kg.
- Milprazon 12.5mg/125mg – for dogs weighing 5kg and over.
What does Milprazon contain?
Milprazon contains two active ingredients: milbemycin oxime and praziquantel. The appropriate tablet strength and number of tablets required depends on your pet's species, bodyweight and the treatment prescribed by your veterinary surgeon.
What is Milprazon used for?
Milprazon is licensed for the treatment of mixed infections with certain adult tapeworms and roundworms in dogs and cats. Depending on the species and formulation, its licensed indications include parasites such as Dipylidium caninum, Taenia species, Ancylostoma, Toxocara and Toxascaris.
In dogs, Milprazon also has licensed indications relating to Angiostrongylus vasorum (lungworm) and heartworm prevention where concurrent treatment against cestodes is indicated. Your veterinary surgeon will determine the appropriate treatment and dosing schedule for your pet.
How is Milprazon given?
Milprazon chewable tablets are given orally and should be administered with or after food. Always follow the dose and treatment schedule stated on your veterinary prescription.

Milprazon is a POM-V (Prescription Only Medicine – Veterinarian). A valid veterinary prescription is required before it can be supplied by Vetalia.
