PRODUCT INFORMATION

Marbocyl P Tablets for Dogs and Cats – Marbofloxacin Veterinary Antibiotic

Marbocyl P is a prescription-only veterinary antibiotic containing marbofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibacterial medicine used for the treatment of certain susceptible bacterial infections in dogs and cats.

Vetalia supplies Marbocyl P 5mg, 20mg and 80mg tablets against a valid veterinary prescription. Tablets can be dispensed individually, allowing you to order the exact quantity prescribed by your veterinary surgeon rather than purchasing a complete manufacturer's pack.

What is Marbocyl P?

Marbocyl P contains the active ingredient marbofloxacin. It is a veterinary fluoroquinolone antibiotic and should only be used where it has been prescribed by a veterinary surgeon for an appropriate susceptible bacterial infection.

The strength, dose, frequency and duration of treatment depend on the animal and condition being treated. Always follow the instructions on your veterinary prescription and the directions given by your vet.

What is Marbocyl P used for?

Marbocyl P has licensed indications for the treatment of susceptible bacterial infections in dogs and cats. The authorised indications differ between species and may include certain skin and soft-tissue, urinary, respiratory and other bacterial infections where the causative organism is susceptible to marbofloxacin.

Antibacterial treatment should be based on veterinary assessment and, where appropriate, susceptibility testing. Fluoroquinolones are an important class of antibiotics and should be used responsibly.

Marbocyl P 5mg Tablets

Marbocyl P 5mg provides the lowest tablet strength in the range and may be prescribed where a smaller marbofloxacin dose is required. Vetalia can dispense 5mg tablets individually or as a complete pack of 100 tablets.

Marbocyl P 20mg Tablets

Marbocyl P 20mg tablets contain 20mg marbofloxacin per tablet. They are available individually in the quantity authorised on your prescription or as a full pack of 100 tablets.

Marbocyl P 80mg Tablets

Marbocyl P 80mg is the highest tablet strength in the Marbocyl P range. Vetalia supplies individual 80mg tablets as well as complete packs of 72 tablets.

Available Marbocyl P strengths

  • Marbocyl P 5mg tablets – individual tablets or box of 100
  • Marbocyl P 20mg tablets – individual tablets or box of 100
  • Marbocyl P 80mg tablets – individual tablets or box of 72

Can I order individual Marbocyl P tablets?

Yes. Marbocyl P tablets can be dispensed individually by Vetalia, subject to your veterinary prescription. If your vet has prescribed a course of 10, 14, 20 or another quantity of tablets, you can order the prescribed quantity rather than a whole manufacturer's pack.

Do I need a prescription for Marbocyl P?

Yes. Marbocyl P is classified as a POM-V (Prescription Only Medicine – Veterinarian) in the UK. A valid veterinary prescription is required before it can be supplied.

Using Marbocyl P safely

Give Marbocyl P exactly as prescribed by your veterinary surgeon. Do not change the dose or duration of treatment without veterinary advice, and do not use leftover antibiotics for another animal or a different condition.

If your pet develops an unexpected reaction, their condition deteriorates, or you have concerns during treatment, contact your veterinary surgeon.
