PRODUCT INFORMATION

Kelapril is a prescription-only veterinary medicine containing benazepril hydrochloride, licensed for use in dogs with heart disease.

Kelapril is indicated for the treatment of congestive heart failure in dogs, including cases associated with atrioventricular valvular insufficiency and dilated cardiomyopathy. It may be used as part of a multimodal treatment plan alongside other cardiac medications, as directed by a veterinary surgeon.

Benazepril is an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor, which acts to reduce activation of the renin–angiotensin–aldosterone system (RAAS). By decreasing peripheral vascular resistance and reducing cardiac workload, ACE inhibitors help improve haemodynamic function and support long-term management of heart disease.

Kelapril tablets are administered orally. Dosage, frequency, and duration of treatment must be determined by the prescribing veterinary surgeon based on the individual patient’s clinical condition and response to therapy.
