PRODUCT INFORMATION

Incurin 1mg Tablets are a prescription-only veterinary medicine containing estriol, used for the treatment of hormone-dependent urinary incontinence caused by sphincter mechanism incompetence in spayed female dogs.

Available pack sizes

  • Single tablet – allowing the exact quantity prescribed by your veterinary surgeon to be dispensed
  • Box of 30 tablets

Each tablet contains 1mg estriol.

What is Incurin used for?

Incurin is authorised for the treatment of hormone-dependent urinary incontinence due to sphincter mechanism incompetence in spayed female dogs.

This type of urinary incontinence may cause involuntary leakage of urine, particularly when a dog is resting or asleep. Your veterinary surgeon will determine whether Incurin is an appropriate treatment for your dog.

How does Incurin work?

Incurin contains estriol, an oestrogen. Oestrogens can help improve urethral sphincter function in some spayed female dogs affected by hormone-dependent urinary incontinence.

How is Incurin given?

Incurin is given orally. The effective dose varies between individual dogs and is determined by your veterinary surgeon.

There is no fixed dose based solely on body weight. Treatment is adjusted according to the individual dog's response, with the aim of using the lowest effective dose.

Always give Incurin exactly as directed on your veterinary prescription. Do not alter the dose or frequency without discussing this with your veterinary surgeon.

Monitoring during treatment

Dogs receiving Incurin should be reviewed periodically by their veterinary surgeon to assess their response to treatment and ensure that the dose remains appropriate.

If urinary incontinence persists or worsens despite treatment, your veterinary surgeon may recommend further investigation to rule out other underlying causes.

Important information

Incurin should only be used in dogs for which it has been specifically prescribed.

If you notice any unexpected effects while your dog is receiving Incurin, contact your veterinary surgeon for advice.
