PRODUCT INFORMATION
Frontline Spot-On is a topical flea and tick treatment for dogs and cats containing fipronil, a well-established ectoparasiticide that kills adult fleas and ticks on contact. Applied directly to the skin, the solution spreads across the coat through the natural oils of the skin and hair to provide protection against external parasites.
Frontline is widely used for routine flea control and for the treatment of active infestations. Fleas are killed within 24 hours of treatment, helping to break the flea life cycle and reduce environmental contamination within the home. Ticks are also killed after attachment, reducing the risk of tick-borne disease transmission.
Because the medication remains within the oils of the skin and coat rather than circulating through the bloodstream, it works by contact exposure rather than requiring the parasite to bite the animal. This makes it suitable for many pets as part of a regular parasite control plan.
Frontline Spot-On is licensed for use in both dogs and cats and is commonly used as part of a broader parasite control programme alongside routine worming treatments.
Frontline Spot-On is classified as AVM-GSL, meaning it can be purchased without a veterinary prescription.
