For the treatment of congestive heart failure in dogs due to atrioventricular valvular insufficiency or dilated cardiomyopathy.
Fortekor Plus Tablets for Dogs is a prescription-only veterinary medicine containing benazepril hydrochloride and pimobendan. It is licensed for use in dogs for the management of congestive heart failure and is intended for patients already stabilised on the individual components at equivalent doses.
Fortekor Plus combines an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor with an inodilator. Benazepril reduces activation of the renin–angiotensin–aldosterone system, lowering vascular resistance and cardiac workload. Pimobendan increases myocardial contractility and causes peripheral vasodilation, improving cardiac output.
The fixed-dose combination simplifies long-term therapy in dogs requiring dual cardiac support. Tablets are scored to allow accurate weight-based dosing as prescribed by a veterinary surgeon.
Fortekor Plus should only be used under veterinary supervision and supplied against a valid veterinary prescription.
