PRODUCT INFORMATION
EthyCalm Spray is a fast-acting topical cooling spray designed to temporarily desensitise the skin before minor veterinary procedures.
It works by rapidly cooling the surface of the skin, helping to reduce sensation for a short period before procedures such as injections, blood sampling, microchipping and tick removal.
EthyCalm provides rapid, temporary cooling and desensitisation of the skin before minor procedures.
It may be used before procedures including:
- Vaccinations and injections
- Blood sampling
- Intravenous catheter placement
- Microchipping
- Tick removal
- Other minor superficial procedures
How does EthyCalm work?
EthyCalm contains ethyl chloride, which evaporates rapidly when sprayed onto the skin.
This rapid evaporation removes heat from the skin surface, producing an intense cooling effect and temporarily reducing skin sensation.
The effect develops within seconds and lasts for a short period, allowing the procedure to be carried out immediately after application.
How to use EthyCalm
Always follow the instructions supplied with the product and any advice given by your veterinary surgeon.
- Ensure the application area is clean and dry.
- Hold the can approximately 20cm away from the skin.
- Spray the area continuously for around 6–8 seconds.
- Stop spraying when a light frost begins to appear.
