PRODUCT INFORMATION
Dexacortone Chewable Tablets are a prescription-only veterinary medicine containing dexamethasone.
They are available in 0.5mg and 2mg strengths for dogs and cats. The tablets are flavoured and can be divided into two or four equal parts where required.
What is Dexacortone used for?
Dexacortone is authorised for the symptomatic treatment, or as adjunct treatment, of inflammatory and allergic conditions in dogs and cats.
What does Dexacortone contain?
Each chewable tablet contains either 0.5mg dexamethasone or 2mg dexamethasone, depending on the strength prescribed.
How is Dexacortone given?
Dexacortone is given orally. The dose and duration of treatment should be determined by the prescribing veterinary surgeon according to the condition being treated and the individual patient.
Corticosteroid treatment may need to be reduced gradually rather than stopped suddenly. Always follow the instructions provided by your veterinary surgeon.
