PRODUCT INFORMATION
Credelio Chewable Tablets are prescription-only veterinary medicines containing lotilaner, an isoxazoline antiparasitic used for the treatment of flea and tick infestations in dogs and cats.
Credelio provides immediate and persistent flea and tick killing activity for 1 month following treatment. Different tablet strengths are available according to the species and bodyweight of the animal.
Please select the correct species and tablet strength prescribed by your veterinary surgeon.
What is Credelio?
Credelio contains the active ingredient lotilaner. Lotilaner belongs to the isoxazoline group of antiparasitic medicines and acts against susceptible fleas, ticks and, in dogs, certain mites.
Fleas and ticks must attach to the animal and begin feeding in order to be exposed to lotilaner. Because parasites must feed before they are killed, the possibility of transmission of parasite-borne diseases cannot be completely excluded.
What is Credelio used for?
In dogs, Credelio is licensed for:

- Reduction of the risk of infection with Babesia canis canis transmitted by Dermacentor reticulatus for 1 month

How is Credelio given?
Credelio is given orally, usually at monthly intervals.
For dogs, Credelio should be administered with or after food.
For cats, Credelio should be administered with food or within 30 minutes after feeding. Giving the tablet without food may reduce absorption and therefore reduce treatment efficacy.
The dose, treatment interval and duration of treatment should follow the instructions provided by your veterinary surgeon.
Use in puppies and kittens
Safety and efficacy data for Credelio in dogs have been obtained in dogs and puppies aged 8 weeks or older and weighing at least 1.3kg. Use in younger or smaller puppies should therefore be based on an individual veterinary benefit-risk assessment.
In cats, safety and efficacy data have been obtained in cats aged 8 weeks or older and weighing at least 0.5kg. Use in younger or smaller kittens should be based on an individual veterinary benefit-risk assessment.
Credelio is not recommended for the treatment of ticks in kittens aged 5 months or younger because sufficient efficacy data against ticks are not available for this age group.
Important safety information
Do not use Credelio in animals with a known hypersensitivity to lotilaner or any of the other ingredients.
Very rare adverse reactions have been reported. These can include gastrointestinal signs such as vomiting, diarrhoea or reduced appetite, as well as lethargy, itching or neurological signs including tremors, ataxia or convulsions.
If your pet becomes unwell following administration, contact your veterinary surgeon for advice.
The safety of Credelio has not been established during pregnancy or lactation. In breeding, pregnant or lactating animals it should only be used following a benefit-risk assessment by the prescribing veterinary surgeon.
Does Credelio treat worms?
No. Credelio contains lotilaner and is primarily an ectoparasite treatment. It does not provide routine treatment for intestinal roundworms or tapeworms.
If your pet requires combined flea, tick and worm treatment, discuss an appropriate parasite-control programme with your veterinary surgeon.
How long does Credelio last?
One correctly administered dose provides flea and tick activity for approximately 1 month. Where ongoing parasite protection is required, treatment is normally repeated monthly according to veterinary advice and local parasite risk.
