PRODUCT INFORMATION
Cortotic 0.584mg/ml Ear Spray Solution for Dogs is a prescription-only veterinary medicine containing hydrocortisone aceponate, a corticosteroid used for the treatment of clinical signs associated with acute erythroceruminous otitis externa in dogs.
Cortotic is supplied as a 16ml ear spray with a dose-controlled pump for auricular administration.
What is Cortotic used for?
Cortotic is authorised for the treatment of clinical signs associated with acute erythroceruminous otitis externa in dogs.
Your veterinary surgeon will determine whether Cortotic is appropriate for your dog and how long treatment should continue.
What does Cortotic contain?
Each ml contains 0.584mg hydrocortisone aceponate.
Hydrocortisone aceponate is a glucocorticosteroid with local anti-inflammatory activity.
How is Cortotic given?
Cortotic is administered into the affected ear using the supplied spray pump. It should be used exactly as directed by the prescribing veterinary surgeon.
The authorised dosage is two pump activations into each affected ear once daily for 7 consecutive days. Where appropriate, treatment may be extended by the veterinary surgeon for up to 14 days.
Important information
Do not use Cortotic in dogs with a perforated tympanic membrane, on cutaneous ulcers, or in animals with a known hypersensitivity to hydrocortisone aceponate, other corticosteroids or any of the excipients.
Underlying causes of otitis should be identified and treated where appropriate. Bacterial and fungal otitis may occur secondary to underlying disease.
After first opening, the product should be used within 6 months and stored below 25°C.

Cortotic is classified as POM-V (Prescription Only Medicine – Veterinarian).
