Capstar Flea Treatment Tablets for Cats and Dogs

Capstar is a fast-acting oral flea treatment containing nitenpyram. It is used to treat adult flea infestations in cats and dogs.

Capstar begins killing adult fleas within approximately 15–30 minutes of administration, with full effectiveness reached within 24 hours.

Please note: Capstar does not provide ongoing protection against fleas and does not treat flea eggs, larvae or pupae within the home. A suitable longer-lasting flea treatment and environmental flea-control programme may also be required to prevent reinfestation.

Available strengths

• Capstar 11mg: for cats and small dogs weighing 1kg to 11kg
• Capstar 57mg: for dogs weighing 11.1kg to 57kg

How to give Capstar

Capstar tablets should be given orally, either directly into your pet’s mouth or disguised in a small quantity of food immediately before administration.

The frequency of treatment depends on the severity of the infestation. In severe infestations, treatment may be required every day or every other day until the infestation is controlled. Treatment may be repeated if fleas reappear, but no more than one treatment should be given per day.
