PRODUCT INFORMATION
Advantage Chewable Tablets for Dogs are palatable flea and tick treatment tablets containing lotilaner. They provide immediate and persistent flea and tick killing activity for one month.
Advantage Chewable is available in five strengths for dogs from 1.3kg bodyweight. Each pack contains 3 chewable tablets.
What is Advantage Chewable used for?
Advantage Chewable is used for the treatment of flea and tick infestations in dogs.
It provides immediate and persistent killing activity for one month against fleas (Ctenocephalides felis and Ctenocephalides canis) and the following tick species:
- Rhipicephalus sanguineus
- Ixodes ricinus
- Ixodes hexagonus
- Dermacentor reticulatus
Advantage Chewable can also be used as part of a treatment strategy for the control of Flea Allergy Dermatitis (FAD) where this has previously been diagnosed by a veterinary surgeon.
Fleas and ticks must attach to the dog and begin feeding to be exposed to lotilaner. The risk of transmission of parasite-borne diseases therefore cannot be completely excluded.
Which Advantage Chewable does my dog need?
| Dog's bodyweight | Tablet strength |
|---|---|
| 1.3–2.5kg | 56mg |
| Over 2.5–5.5kg | 112mg |
| Over 5.5–11kg | 225mg |
| Over 11–22kg | 450mg |
| Over 22–45kg | 900mg |
Dogs weighing more than 45kg should receive an appropriate combination of available tablet strengths to achieve the recommended dose. Your dog's bodyweight should be determined as accurately as possible before treatment.
How do I give Advantage Chewable?
Advantage Chewable is given by mouth and should be administered with food or within 30 minutes of feeding.
For optimal flea and tick control, treatment should be given at monthly intervals throughout the flea and/or tick season, according to local risk.
Can Advantage Chewable be used in puppies?
Safety and efficacy data are available for dogs and puppies from 8 weeks of age and 1.3kg bodyweight. A veterinary surgeon should be consulted before treating puppies younger than 8 weeks or weighing less than 1.3kg.
