PRODUCT INFORMATION
Zenrelia Film-Coated Tablets for Dogs
Zenrelia is a prescription-only veterinary medicine used for the management of pruritus associated with allergic dermatitis and the clinical manifestations of atopic dermatitis in dogs.
Zenrelia contains ilunocitinib, a selective Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor that works by modulating inflammatory signalling pathways involved in itch and allergic skin disease.
This targeted mechanism helps reduce pruritus and inflammation while supporting the longer-term management of chronic allergic skin conditions in dogs.
Zenrelia is administered orally once daily, with the tablet strength and dose selected according to the dog’s body weight and the prescribing veterinary surgeon’s instructions.
Zenrelia should only be supplied against a valid veterinary prescription.
What Zenrelia is used for
Zenrelia is used in dogs for the management of pruritus associated with allergic dermatitis and for the clinical manifestations of atopic dermatitis.
It may be prescribed as part of an overall treatment plan for dogs with ongoing allergic skin disease, helping to improve comfort and reduce the impact of itching and inflammation on day-to-day quality of life.
How Zenrelia works
Zenrelia contains ilunocitinib, a selective JAK inhibitor.
JAK inhibitors work by modulating signalling pathways involved in inflammation and itch. By reducing the inflammatory signals that contribute to allergic skin disease, Zenrelia can help control pruritus and support better long-term symptom management.
Because allergic skin disease can be chronic and multifactorial, treatment is typically used as part of a broader veterinary management plan.
Administration
Zenrelia is given by mouth once daily.
The prescribed tablet strength and dose will depend on the dog’s body weight and the clinical plan set by the prescribing veterinary surgeon. The exact instructions for use will be shown on the dispensing label and should always be followed carefully.
Owners should not adjust the dose or stop treatment unless advised to do so by their veterinary surgeon.
Monitoring during treatment
Dogs receiving Zenrelia should remain under veterinary supervision, particularly if treatment is ongoing.
Monitoring may involve clinical reassessment of itch control, skin condition and overall response to treatment, together with any additional checks the prescribing veterinary surgeon considers appropriate.
Important information
Zenrelia is a prescription-only veterinary medicine and should only be used under the direction of a veterinary surgeon.
It will only be supplied following receipt of a valid veterinary prescription. Ongoing monitoring by the primary care veterinary practice is recommended, particularly during long-term use.
You will receive the same licensed medication prescribed by your veterinary surgeon.
Further information, including indications, contraindications, warnings and potential side effects, can be found in the official product data sheet available here.
