Understanding the Veterinary Prescribing Cascade
Some medicines prescribed by veterinary surgeons are not licensed specifically for use in animals. In certain circumstances, they may be supplied legally under the veterinary prescribing cascade in accordance with UK veterinary medicines regulations.
These medicines are classified as Prescription Only Medicines (POM) and can only be supplied following review of a valid UK veterinary prescription.
Because these products are supplied under the prescribing cascade, they are not listed or promoted in the same way as licensed veterinary medicines.
No medicines will be supplied without a valid veterinary prescription.
How it works
- Complete the form and upload your prescription using the secure form above.
- Prescription reviewed. We aim to review prescriptions promptly during working hours (Monday–Friday).
- Availability and pricing are confirmed. A secure payment link is then issued with full details. There is no obligation to proceed.
- Order processed within 24 hours (Monday–Friday) following receipt of payment. Dispatch typically takes place within 24 hours, depending on stock availability. Some items may be available for same-day dispatch following prescription approval.
As some off-label medicines are sourced specifically for individual prescriptions, we recommend allowing up to one week for sourcing and dispatch when arranging repeat supplies.
Delivery times are in addition to processing time. Standard shipping fees apply.
